God-On-Our-Road

Christmas draws near again. It is at hand. It is here. And like many years ago, I have to ponder again at what it signifies? The festive decor outside is great. I have never seen people prepare for a feast as they prepare Xmas here in Manila.

And as I ponder, those deep truths of my faith stare at me again. Emmanuel... that is the Hebrew word to say "God among us" or "God with us". I have often reflected at the hidden import of the expression "God on our road." I am not putting and I never will put Christianity above every other religion. I was born a Christian and I love to be one. The feeling that the Christian God, through incarnation, became one like me and walked my road in history - "... man like us in all things but sin" as Paul would say, is something incredibly wonderful.

That thought alone makes me believe that God actually transcends our human condition whatever it may be. Christmas is the celebration, not of a haughty nature, but of an infinitely touching, humbling and gracious reality: salvation. God never came to take off our pain and suffering, but to usher us into that broad light which makes us see His face in even viciously distressing situations. Christmas means God is in the stranger, God looks at us in our hardship, God looks at us in the wrinkled face of an aging crone, God stares at us through the disgruntled face of a criminal. In the heart-hardened, the prostitute, the thief, the humble, the weak-- in all the disfigured faces of humanity, there is a glimpse of the face of God. Because, God is "God-on-road"

That is the most sensible answer I ever had on the problem of suffering. Nice one author

welcome to the WORLD OF HAVEN VALLEY

I am not a cut different from the ordinary human who walks the street. But in my journey, I strive to understand the music that surges from the wide worlds within every individual, that which makes him/her that fragile and sacred at the same time. I have found myself sometimes looking at someone farting with thumps-up as though goading him on to sanity. Seemingly meaningless things have been things that have communicated sense to me especially during louring hours. That is what this journal is. I offer these thoughts to the world with wonted pleasure and gratitude to all that awakens the human in me.
